なぜカラスに惹かれたのだろう。

われわれ人間のもっとも身近に生息するカラス。
その黒い姿は夜行性でもなく、擬態も成立しない。
暗闇の外では、むしろ際立った存在感を放つ。
全身を漆黒でまとったその姿は異形で畏怖の対象ですらある。

古代から世界各地の神話や伝説にも登場するカラス。
「悪」 や 「不吉の象徴」 として見られる一方で 「太陽の化身」 吉兆をもたらす 「神の使い」
霊鳥として信仰の対象にもなっている。
その漆黒の姿には人々を惹き付けてきた特別な 「なにか」 がある。

ずっと気になっていた。
光と影を見つめ、古代と現代に思いを馳せ
原風景と現風景を重ね、街と自然を行きかい
現実と虚構を織り交ぜ、黒を凝視し、その 「なにか」 に迫ってみた。

なぜカラスに惹かれるのだろう。

ひとつだけ。
神秘的で自信にあふれ、威厳すら感じる美しいカラスには生きる信念がみなぎっていた。
カラスは自らの強い意志で漆黒をまとい、これからも我々の前にたたずみ続ける。

Why do I find crows so fascinating?

Most of us are familiar with crows.
The crow is not a nocturnal bird, its blackness is not camouflage.
The crow always cuts a conspicuous silhouette, even when it’s dark out.
Its striking, all-black appearance is strangely awe-inspiring..

Since ancient times, the crow has appeared in mythologies and folktales all over the world. Seen as “evil” or a harbinger of something ominous in some folklores, others have worshiped the crow as a bearer of good fortune, or even a “divine messenger” or “an incarnation of the sun”.
There is “something” about the jet-black crow that has fascinated us humans for centuries.

I have always been curious.
What is that “something”? To try and find out, I have been studying the interplay of light and shadow, reflecting on ancient and modern times, juxtaposing current scenery with scenery from times gone by, blending reality and fiction, going back and forth between nature and the city … all the while paying careful attention to the “blackness”.

So why are crows so intriguing?

All I can say is this.
The beautiful crow has always been a mysterious creature: bold yet dignified and with a strong zest for life. Strong-willed and determined, the crow wears its jet-black feather coat with confidence. I believe crows will be among us for a long time to come.

ポップな色、笑顔、艶、光が必要不可欠。
ストレートにそれらをパフォーマンスで表現しました。
“Fried Boys”彼らは見事に楽しそうに、美味しそうに躍動してくれた。
彼らのパフォーマンスの中には、「食欲」の欲を掻き立てる、
衝動的なエネルギーが凝縮されている。
ぜひ「食欲」を掻き立てる、欲動へのエネルギーを感じてください。
ねっ！？　何か食べたくなってきたでしょう？

「ジャポニズム」当時のヨーロッパの絵画の巨匠たちに驚嘆と心酔を与え、
喝采によって受け入れられた日本の美人画。
それを見た巨匠たちは間違いなく「脳よだれ」をダラダラとたらしたであろう。
独特の進化を遂げてきた日本髪や着物、
そしてそれをまとった日本女性の仕草や表情。
日本人として、また写真家として、いつかは絶対撮りたいと思っていた。

静寂の中にある独特の間。
余計なものを削ぎ落とした色。
凛とした眼差し。
柔らかく優しい曲線。
そしてなにより、彼女たちが発露する女性としての生きる姿。
思わず立ち止まって、はっとしたり、うっとりしたりしてもらえたら嬉しいなぁ。

Japanese Bijin-ga (paintings of beautiful
women) deeply impressed European great
painting masters with surprise and fascination,
and accepted with applause in the era of
“Japonism”.
I’m sure those masters dripped and dripped
their “brain drool” when they saw it.
Japanese hair style and Kimono which had
developed in a unique way.
Gestures or expressions of the Japanese
women who wore them.
As a Japanese person and a photographer,
I have always had an irrepressible urge to
shoot something like this.
They occupy a unique space amidst the silence...
Minimal colors without excess
Dignified look in eyes...
Soft, beautiful curving lines...
And most important of all, the way of life as
women expressed
I am really happy if these pictures grab people
on an impulse, and have them breathtaking or
fascinating.

不安、恐怖、絶望、争い、憎悪、疑心。
世界中が、そんな漠然としたもので覆われ抜け出せないでいる。
便利になり、スピードも速くなり、楽しい事も格段に増えたはず。

なのになぜだろう。

便利なものに頼りすぎていないか、
速いことが正しい事だと思い込んでいないか、
心の底からそれが楽しい事だと感じているか、
そして何より、自分の事しか考えてなくはないか。
安心、歓喜、希望、平和、愛情、信頼。
自分一人では何も感じられないものばかり。

優しくなろう。
外に出よう。
みんなと会おう。
そして先ずは、笑顔から。

同じ地球人なんだから。

Anxiety, fear, despair, war, hatred, doubt.
This world is covered with those vagueness which is hard to escape from.

But why?
It’s becoming more convenient and faster. There must be more joy.

Aren’t we too dependent on convenience?
Aren’t we overtrusting in speediness?
Are we feeling the true pleasure?
And more than anything, aren’t we too selfish?
Relief, rejoice, hope, peace, love, trust.
These are something that you cannot feel without somebody.

Be kind.
Step outside.
Meet someone.
First of all, smile.

We are all citizens of the world.
